Having fun in your practice is something that I strongly believe in...

my philosophy

I want to help you develop your practice in a way that challenges you physically and creates space mentally. Connecting you to your body and breath so you can move with purpose and with intention on your mat. Opening up space in the body to open up space in the mind as well.

Having fun in your practice is something that I strongly believe in. Our jobs and our lives are already so serious, why should your yoga practice be as well? I believe that when you step on your mat that you should feel empowered and curious. Don't take yourself so seriously! This is your time to play and explore yourself through mindful movement. Making movement your meditation, taking you out of your busy head and back into your heart.

I came to yoga about 10 years ago as a way to stay physically active after retiring from competitive gymnastics. I found creativity in movement again, and a way to challenge myself and test boundaries in my body. While the physical practice of asana initially brought me to yoga, it was the mental and the spiritual aspects of the practice that led me to stay... and to ultimately make a career in the teachings of yoga. I found myself more aware and present on a daily basis, I became less reactive, and over all a much more positive person. 

I registered for my first 200 hour teacher training in 2013 with Pure Yoga Ottawa and studied under Mark Laham, Mike Dynie and Todd Lavictoire. I began leading classes as soon as I graduated in the spring of 2014, and instantly I fell in love with teaching. Now a full time teacher, you can find me across the city of Ottawa teaching at locations such as Movati Athletic, Yogatown, and Pure Yoga Ottawa. Check out my schedule for a list of my weekly public classes.

I love to teach a strong Vinyasa class. Other styles such as Hatha (Town Mix) and Yin Yang are also in my weekly line-up, but power flow classes are my favourite to teach! Majority of my classes are held in a hot studio so you can expect to work up a sweat! I am also a certified AntiGravity instructor, using hammocks to teach swings, flips, tricks, and inversions

When I am not in the studio you will most likely find me somewhere outside with my dog Jake. We enjoy a variety of outdoor activities, swimming and mountain biking in the summer, and long walks around Bruce Pit during the winter months. If you are lucky you might get a chance to meet this handsome boy at one of the studios! We will be sure to greet you with a smile!
